Homestretch Receives $50,000 Grant from the Faeder Family Foundation to Empower Families through Workforce Development
Family Foundation’s Support Will Help Homestretch Families Achieve Financial Independence
FALLS CHURCH, VA – Homestretch, a non-profit dedicated to empowering homeless families with children in Virginia to attain permanent housing and self-sufficiency, has received a generous $50,000 grant from the Faeder Family Foundation. This grant will support Homestretch’s Workforce Development Program, providing critical training and job placement resources to help families on their path to financial stability.
The Faeder Family Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of Homestretch, previously sponsoring the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, the Benefit Breakfast, which brings together community leaders, supporters, and program graduates to share inspiring stories of resilience and transformation. The foundation’s partnership with Homestretch extends beyond financial contributions, as they have also volunteered to help set up new units for incoming Homestretch families. The Faeder Family Foundation, who are also the founders of Kensington Senior Living, has consistently supported Homestretch’s mission, leveraging their resources to uplift families in need.
Barfonce Baldwin, Executive Director of Homestretch, shared her gratitude for the foundation's unwavering support, stating, “The Faeder Family Foundation’s commitment to Homestretch goes far beyond donations; it reflects a deep-rooted dedication to improving the lives of families in our community. Their grant will bolster our Workforce Development Program, empowering parents with the skills and opportunities needed to achieve lasting financial independence. This partnership embodies the community spirit that helps families thrive long after they graduate from our program.”
The Workforce Development Program at Homestretch is essential for helping families transition out of homelessness. Through this program, participants gain access to job training, financial literacy courses and career coaching, equipping them with skills that support sustained employment and self-reliance. With the Faeder Family Foundation’s support, Homestretch can expand these services, reaching even more families facing the challenges of homelessness.
The partnership between Homestretch and the Faeder Family Foundation underscores a shared mission: to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by providing tangible support and resources that transform lives.
